Product code structure

Suptex products, including all kinds of catalogs, product list, B2B portal and so on. is used basic coding structure below

Product serial code

All Suptex products are grouped under the so-called ‘product series’ according to their basic design and function classes. DMK series for rotary shaft seals, SDT series for static seals, or HRU, HMU, HST series etc. for hydraulic applications.

Below you can find commonly used Suptex product serial codes and descriptions.

Mechanical design code

A sequence number for each new mechanical design within the same product range (e.g. 6421, 6422, 6423 ) characteristics. Determines the basic geometry of the part.

In rotary shaft seals (DMK series), classifications are also used called Type Code, which is an extended version of the basic design variants in the relevant international standards. You can reach this design codes under the heading of Rotary Shaft > Definitions > Design .

Material design code

It is the code given for each rubber/plastic recipe developed according to different application conditions. It is named according to the type of polymer and the recipe number that determines the main characteristics of the recipe.

Material Code GeneraAbbreviation Explanation
NBxx NBR Acrylonitrile butadiene
ACxx ACM Polyacrylic
AExx AEM Ethylene acrylic
NBxx NBR Akrilo nitril bütadien
FKxx FKM Fluorocarbon
VQxx VMQ Vinyl-methyl silicone
HNxx HNBR Hydrogenated nitrile butadiene
EPxx EPDM Ethylene propylene diene
SBxx SBR Styrene butadiene
CRxx CR Chloroprene
NRxx NR Natural rubber
PUxx PU Polyurethane
CMxx * If there are multiple rubber / plastic types in same product (e.g. outer AE02 + FK08 lip = end product CM03 etc.)

Version number

It is the part where minor differences are observed according to customer special requests over the same basic product design.

Traceability

The time from the manufacture and packaging of the sealing element to installation at the area of use, is a critical process that determines the life and performance of the sealing application, but can be easily overlooked.

Here, the process begins with choosing and providing the correct seal according to application conditions, proceeding with the correct storage of the product either on the shelf of the user or the seller and ends with the correct installation of the product with the appropriate tools at the application area.

Below is an example of a Suptex tag to give you an idea. A standard product label includes the following information: product code, quantity in the package, product description, production lot no. and production date. Below this information is a barcode designed for internal use.

Critical to retrospective traceability is the information ‘production/lot no.’ in here. If this number is shared with all kinds of requests,
