rubber and plastic raw materials. These materials, referred to as "polymers," can be classified into two main groups: "thermoset" and "thermoplastic" materials. Thermoset materials are irreversible once they are shaped with heat, and elastomers (rubber) fall into this category. On the other hand, thermoplastic (plastomer) materials can be repeatedly shaped with heat. These materials exhibit similar mechanical properties such as elongation, compression, self-recovery, abrasion resistance and others.
